The Transport Workers Union of America secured a contract extension with a 15.5% pay increase for Flight Dispatchers at PSA Airlines represented by TWU Local 592, helping workers who will be relocating to Charlotte, North Carolina.
The 2.5 year extension addresses pay issues to help Flight Dispatchers that will be moving from Dayton, Ohio to Charlotte as part of PSA’s relocation announcement in January. The extension which includes an immediate 11.5% pay increase was ratified by workers with more than 85 percent in favor.
“We were able to quickly secure a major pay raise that addresses and goes beyond cost of living changes associated with the move from Dayton to Charlotte,” said TWU Local 592 President Brian Bourbeau. “We will return to the negotiating table to handle other issues but getting the pay raise was a major victory.”
In addition to the 11.5% raise, the deal retroactive to April 1 includes two more raises of 2%.
“This deal makes PSA Flight Dispatchers the second highest paid in the industry for regional airlines,” said TWU Aviation Division Director Andre Sutton. “I’m pleased we were able to provide significant gains for Flight Dispatchers who had to make a life-changing move from Dayton to Charlotte.”
