Congratulations to the TWU members from Local 562, 514 and 565 who competed at the 2nd Annual Maintenance Skills Competition in Las Vegas in early March.  The event was sponsored by the Aircraft Maintenance Professionals Society (AMT). 

The competition was held over a three-day period and covered such areas as hardware identification, electrical troubleshooting, wheels and brakes, safety and wiring, and turbine engine troubleshooting.  Teams representing four different areas of aviation – Commercial Aviation, Military Aviation and General Aviation, and Aviation Schools – participated.

TWU participants included: Local 562 members Jimmy Labrecque, Joe Hoczela, Robinson Torres, Domenic Mallozzi and Hussain Gadit; Local 565 members Andy Tepoele, Don Rodgers, Don Marshall and John Giglio; and Local 514 members Howard McKinney, Bobby Akin, Kim Lee, Steve Stocker, Dave Momquist, Tom Bender, Jim Gonzales, and Travis Tourney.

The Local 562 group – competing as Team American Northeast Division – place third in the competition.
