
Representatives from six locals active in the TWU California State Political Action Conference attended the recent Joint Legislative Conference of the California Federation of Labor in Sacramento. The TWUers met with other unions and separately to discuss issues of important to TWU members. The group discussed the new stimulus package and its effects on TWU represented properties; the highway and transportation reauthorization bill, and prospects of passage of the Employee Free Choice Act – labor’s number one legislative goal for the 111th Congress. Representatives from Locals 250-A, 200, 210, 502, 505 and 556 attended. TWU COPE Director Hubert Snead chaired the event. International Vice President, Political and Governmental Affairs, Roger Tauss addressed the group. State Fed President Art Pulaski and State Senators Lelan Yee, Mark Leno and Darrell Steinberg also spoke. Photo shows a group shot of TWU attendees at the meeting.
