Don Videtich
 

Don Videtich started his career with the TWU International as a project coordinator in October of 2004 and became an International Representative in September of 2007. His primary responsibility is overseeing and coordinating the proper internal administration of the Aircraft Maintenance and Stores Locals representing 14,000 TWU members at American Airlines.

Videtich started his aviation career in 1981 in the United States Navy where he worked in various squadrons and engine overhaul facilities for 9 years. During that time, Videtich earned his Airframe and Power plant license and attained the rank of E-6.

Shortly after leaving the Navy he embarked on his career in commercial aviation. Videtich worked as a contractor at TRAMCO, Horizon Air and Dee Howard as an Aviation Maintenance Technician performing aircraft overhaul work. He also worked at General Dynamics building MD-11 aircraft.

In 1991 Videtich began his TWU career as an Aviation Maintenance Technician at American Airlines in San Francisco and then in Dallas-Fort Worth. After spending a year working at JFK in New York, Videtich returned to DFW in 1995, and was soon elected to the Executive Board of Local 513 and served two terms in that position. Videtich was elected President of Local 565, when the Local was chartered in 1999. He was re-elected President in 2002.

During his tenure with TWU, in addition to serving in Local Officer positions, Videtich has served in numerous leadership roles involving ASAP, FAA Compliance Initiatives, Overseas Maintenance Monitoring, Maintenance Standards, Joint Leadership Teams, RO Committee, Maintenance and Engineering Strategic Plan and IT Strategic Planning.

2001 TWU/AA Negotiations, TWA Transition, 2003 TWU/AA Restructuring, 2008 Chief Spokesman Mechanic and Related, Stores and Technical Specialist negotiating committees.

Positions Held:

Local 513 Executive Board Member, Local 565 President, TWU Intl. Rep Overseeing Maintenance and Related and Stores System Wide.

Family:

Videtich is happily married for 26 years with 4 children and 3 grandchildren.

Interests:

Videtich is an active member in his Christian Church, a Board member for Agape Men’s Ministry of Texas, and an avid soccer, football and baseball fan.
