Jose Galarza
 

Jose Galarza joined TWU in 1991, when he worked as a catering clerk and then in the aircraft maintenance department at American Eagle. He is an Aviation High School Graduate with both Airframe and Powerplant Technician’s cerficates.

In 1991, Galarza joined the United States Army Reserve and currently possesses three Military Occupational Specialties: Bradley Fighting Vehicle System Maintainer, Light Wheel Vehicle Mechanic, Motor Transport Operator.

From January 2006 to April 2007 Galarza was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, during which time he commanded and participated in over 100 combat logistical patrols. He is trained and qualified as a combat life saver. Today, Galarza serves as the TWU ATD liaison for the ATD Veterans Committee and represents the TWU on the AFL-CIO Veterans Council.

Galarza is a proud TWU member and enjoys being politically active in his union.

“I am honored to be the first American Eagle President in TWU’s history to be appointed the position of International Representative,” says Galarza. “We have a wonderful organization and I want us to continue growing. We are in the business of protecting and representing our members, and that’s what I like to do. My goal is to represent our members from different fronts, from Veteran issues, to Health and Safety, to Contract Negotiation, and on.” Union Service: TWU

Negotiations committee member on two previous American Eagle Contract negotiations.

Currently the chief spokesman for three American Eagle Contract negotiations.

Served as an advocate in both system board of adjustment hearings and Arbitration cases for discipline & discharge and contractual issues.
