Gary Shults International Representative Gary joined the Air Transport Division as an International Representative in September of 2004. Gary has been a member of Local 555 since 1996, and began his union career as a Union Steward at Southwest Airlines in 1980. Beginning his Union activities as a Shop Steward for the IAM at Southwest Airlines, Gary has continued his Union involvement and held many Union offices throughout this career including Local President, Vice President, Secretary Treasurer and District Representative among a few. Gary Chaired negotiations at Local 555 in 2000 and 2001 for the current industry leading contract for the Ramp, Operations, Provisioning and Cargo Employees at Southwest Airlines. He was also active in the preparation and presentation of Arbitrations As an International Representative of the Air Transport Division Gary oversees nine protest panels on the American Airlines property. Gary is also involved in the International Organizing efforts. Along with his International Representative duties; Gary currently serves on the International Executive Council and is a Member of the International Committee on Appeals.
