The full TWU Negotiating Committee met with management this week in Texas and did formal introductions and opening statements.

Each of the Negotiating Committees met separately and exchanged Section Six openers. Each of the parties also agreed on protocol agreements and group ground rules to be followed during the negotiating sessions. Both the Negotiating Committee and management will meet again on Monday, November 12 at 1PM.

On another front, AA System Coordinator, Dennis Burchette met with the media and stated “Ground workers want to see their compensation restored to pre-concessions, 2003 levels.” He pointed out that the company has returned to profitability and managers and top executives have seen their compensation soar, thanks to an annual stock-based bonus plan that paid out millions of dollars. The Union's membership has worked under reduced pay for a long time. "The TWU has been doing the heavy lifting for this corporation," he said. "So we're expecting full restoration."
