The TWU Negotiating Committee met in Fort Worth the week beginning September 10.  Joining us on Monday was International President Jim Little, Secretary-Treasurer Joseph Gordon, and Acting Air Transport Director John Conley.  As a result of a letter from Little to Arpey, the company approached the Negotiating Committee with a proposal to explore the possibility of seeking non-traditional compensation, and a possible contract extension.  The Presidents Council authorized the International to appoint a sub-committee to examine the company’s proposal for a period of two weeks.  Any proposal would be subject to the entire Presidents Council approval before being presented to the membership for ratification. In the event that the proposal would be rejected by the Presidents Council, the Negotiating Committee has been instructed to continue its processes of preparing for full negotiations. The Negotiating Committee adjourned on September 14 and will reconvene in Fort Worth on Monday, September 17.
