On October 3, 2007, informal talks between Transport Workers Union and American Airlines ended without any agreements having been reached. Naturally there has been a large amount of curiosity and speculation about what was offered during those discussions.

All AA Local Presidents & Members
On September 17, 2007 American Airlines and the Transport Workers Union began informal, facilitated discussions that may have led to a possible contract extension. Today, Wednesday, October 03, 2007 those informal talks have ended and no agreements have been reached. The TWU has continued preparing for formal talks that will begin in November and is looking forward to advancing the will of their membership.

AA ground workers, management out of sync

AA Negotiation Team
The TWU AA Negotiation Team met in Irving Texas during the week of April 23-27, 2007. The Negotiation Team consisted of Local Presidents and Representatives from each respective Title and Contract group. The training was conducted by June McMahon, and Joaquinn Calderon from the Labor Education & Research Center of the UCLA Labor Center and Lynn Feekin from the University of Oregon. The training consisted of Negotiations Strategy and Tactics, mock sessions of actual contract language, and negotiations strategy techniques. Additionally, a complete review of the TWU-ATD Policy and Rules for Contract Negotiations was covered. The Team’s next training sessions will take place May 14 - 19 and June 11- 15, 2007 in Irving Texas. These training sessions are in anticipation of formal negotiations, which commence November 2007.
