Women’s
Committee
Delissa
Brown,
Chairwoman
of
the
TWU
Transit
Women’s
Committee,
has
set
the
tentative
dates
of
July
31-August
1,2007
for
the
first
Transit
Women’s
Meeting
in
Ann
Arbor,
Michigan.
Her
Local
171
will
be
hosting
the
meeting.
Information
will
be
sent
out
to
all
Transit
Locals
when
the
dates
are
confirmed.

There
are
speakers
and
activities
planned
for
the
participants.
ATD
Women’s
Committee
will
be
holding
their
meeting
in
August.
Local

out
of
Tulsa
Oklahoma
will
be
the
host
Union.

The
National
Labor
College
George
Meany
Campus
will
be
sponsoring
the
32nd
Annual
Northeast
Regional
Summer
School
for
Union
Women,
July
8-13,2007.
The
focus
of
the
classes
will
be
Union
Women
Getting
Political
About
Making
change.
The
cost
for
a
single
room
and
board
is
$830.00
per
person.
The
cost
for
a
double
room
and
board
is
$630.00
per
person.
All
students
will
attend
classes
designed
to
teach
and
improve
leadership
skills.
Workshops
will
also
be
offered
to
students
consisting
of
Collective
Bargainning,
Advanced
Grievance
Handling,
Building
Your
Union,
Legal
Rights
for
Union
Members
and
many
others.

TWU
is
encouraging
all
locals
to
educate
their
women
about
joining
CLUW.
CLUW
(Coalition
of
Union
Women
) is
a
constituency
group
of
the
AFL-CIO.
TWU
presently
has
only
nine
(9)
members
that
are
members
of
CLUW.
The
CLUW
Biennial
Convention
is
October
10-13
2007
in
Las
Vegas,
Neveda.
I
would
like
a
large
group
of
TWU
women
to
go
as
delegates
to
the
convention.

Atlantic
City,

Jersey
on
Friday,
