of International
President upon the
retirement March 31,
2006 of Michael T.
O'Brien for medical
reasons. His
elevation to
International
President from
Executive Vice
President is
provided for in the
TWU Constitution. He
will serve out
O'Brien's unexpired
term until the fall

Harry Lombardo
was unanimously
named International
Executive Vice
President by a vote
of the International
Executive Council on
March 31, 2006. The
native Philadelphian
started with TWU
Local 234 in 1972 as
a car cleaner for
SEPTA. He was
promoted the
following year to
rail mechanic, and
was named to his
first union
position, section
officer, in 1974 at
the Germantown

Joseph C. Gordon,
a veteran TWU
officer with three
decades of union
experience under his
belt, was named
International
Secretary Treasurer
On Sept. 1, 2007 to
serve out the
unexpired term of
retiring S.T. John
